Kyle Larson Achieves Unprecedented Feat with 10 Wins Across Seven Divisions at Eldora Speedway
Kyle Larson has solidified his legacy as one of the most versatile and accomplished drivers in motorsports history by securing 10 victories across seven different racing divisions at Eldora Speedway. His latest triumph came on April 18, 2023, when he clinched his first-ever win in a UMP Modified car, driving the No. 7 machine owned by fellow NASCAR driver Justin Allgaier. This victory marked his 10th overall at the iconic half-mile dirt oval in Rossburg, Ohio.
Larson’s journey to this remarkable achievement began in 2011 during the 4-Crown Nationals, where he made history by sweeping all three USAC features in a single day—a feat that had not been accomplished since Jack Hewitt in 1998. He won the Silver Crown, Midget, and Sprint Car races, showcasing his adaptability and skill across multiple disciplines. This performance earned him a $10,000 bonus from track owner Tony Stewart and solidified his reputation as a rising star in dirt track racing.
In 2016, Larson added a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory to his Eldora resume by winning the Eldora Dirt Derby. He overcame a mid-race penalty and a lap down to rally back and secure the win, demonstrating his resilience and deep understanding of dirt racing dynamics.
Larson’s prowess in sprint car racing was further highlighted in 2021 when he captured the prestigious Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway. Despite a challenging start to the day, including a flip during the Last Chance Showdown, Larson rebounded to win the $175,000 prize, marking his first World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Crown Jewel victory.
In addition to his success in the Truck Series and sprint cars, Larson has also excelled in late model racing. In April 2022, he triumphed in a dirt late model race at Eldora, further showcasing his versatility across various racing formats.
Larson’s latest victory in the UMP Modified division adds to his impressive list of accomplishments at Eldora Speedway. Starting from the sixth position in the 20-lap feature, he took the lead on lap 7 and set the fastest lap of the race at 18.267 seconds. He finished over six seconds ahead of second-place finisher Tyler Nicely, underscoring his dominance on the track.
With 10 wins across seven different divisions—NASCAR Truck, winged sprint cars, non-winged sprint cars, Silver Crown, midgets, late models, and UMP Modifieds—Larson’s achievements at Eldora Speedway are unparalleled. His success across such diverse racing formats highlights his exceptional driving talent and adaptability, cementing his status as a true legend in the world of motorsports.
As Larson continues to compete and excel across various racing disciplines, his legacy at Eldora Speedway serves as a testament to his skill, determination, and passion for the sport. Fans and fellow competitors alike eagerly anticipate his future endeavors, knowing that Larson’s name is synonymous with excellence in motorsports.
