BREAKING NEWS: Manhunt Intensifies as Authorities Warn Suspected Triple Child Killer May Be Hiding in Rural Washington Areas
Chelan County, WA — June 5, 2025
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office has issued an urgent warning to residents across several rural counties in Washington State, as the manhunt continues for a suspect accused of the horrifying murders of his three young daughters. Authorities believe the suspect may be hiding in remote forested areas of Chelan County and surrounding regions, and are urging residents to remain indoors, lock their doors, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
The suspect, who has not yet been named publicly by law enforcement due to the sensitivity of the case and ongoing investigative efforts, is considered armed and extremely dangerous. The killings, described by officials as a “deeply disturbing act of familial violence,” have shaken local communities and prompted a large-scale response from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Washington State Patrol.
The tragedy reportedly unfolded earlier this week in a neighboring county, where the bodies of the three young girls, all under the age of 10, were discovered in what investigators have called a “deliberate and planned” act. The children’s mother, who has been cooperating with authorities, is not considered a suspect at this time. She is currently in protective custody and receiving support services.
“Every available resource is being deployed to locate and apprehend this individual,” said Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett during a press conference Wednesday evening. “We want to be clear: this man poses a serious threat to the public, particularly to those living in rural or isolated areas. Please remain vigilant, do not approach anyone you don’t recognize, and call 911 immediately if you see or hear anything unusual.”
Authorities say the suspect has experience living off-grid and may be using remote trails, forest access roads, and abandoned structures to evade capture. Officers are conducting ground and aerial searches in high-probability zones, using drones, canine units, and thermal imaging technology to sweep the heavily wooded terrain.
Local schools in parts of Chelan, Okanogan, Douglas, and Grant counties are on heightened alert, with some districts opting to close for the remainder of the week out of an abundance of caution. “We are doing everything we can to keep our students and staff safe,” said a spokesperson for the Manson School District.
The Sheriff’s Office has also asked residents to check any trail cameras, home security footage, or hunting cabins for signs of forced entry or unexpected movement. Hunters, hikers, and outdoor workers have been strongly advised to stay away from backcountry areas until further notice.
This is a developing story. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm but cautious. Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call the Chelan County tip line at (509) 667-6845.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
