At Thursday’s council meeting, Panama City Beach council members approved two representatives to major local boards.
First, the approved Les McFatter to continue his role on the Northwest Florida Airport Authority Board. McFatter’s term was set to expire this month.
Next, the city’s representative as Collector on the Bay County Tourist Development Council Board retired, so a new appointee was needed. The commission agreed on local businessman Jason Branks.
Vice Mayor Michael Jarman says it’s important for the city to be represented on both boards so that the citizens of Panama City Beach can continue to have their voices heard.
“Having representatives that are knowledgeable of the area and have been in the area and that really can represent the city of Panama City Beach to help direct the actions of those boards is crucial for us to have,” Jarman said.
