PCB council sessions may soon undergo a permanent schedule adjustment.

Panama City Beach officials are looking to maximize their time by adjusting the start of their meetings. Tonight, council members held the first hearing for a permanent time change to the evening meetings. Since the start of the summer concert series at Aaron Bessant Park, beach leaders have agreed to meet at 5p.m. as opposed to 6p.m.

After discussing the item, beach officials believe this change would be beneficial for everyone attending.

Council members will vote on the time change during the next council meeting, which will be at 9 a.m. on July 24th.

“It enables during the summertime, especially seniors who come to these meetings to be able to drive home without having to drive home in the night,” Panama City Beach councilmen Paul Casto said.

“The meetings should last longer than 2-3 hours. So, they should be able to drive here in the daylight hours and drive home in the daylight hours.”
