Do you possess obsolete furniture or appliances? Panama City Beach to offer bulk waste collections in July

Beach residents soon will have another opportunity to get rid of old furniture or other large household items.

According to a July 1 press release, two community bulk trash collections are slated for July.

They will occur on July 7 for areas east of Nautilus Street within the city’s limits, and then on July 14 for areas west of Nautilus Street within the city’s limits. “Regular household trash, yard waste and hazardous materials, like freon, batteries, propane, paint or other liquid chemicals are not eligible for pickup,” the release reads.

“This free service is available to PCB residents only. Commercial businesses, apartments, condos or those who live on private streets are not eligible to participate in the program.

” Items eligible for pickup include furniture, appliances and broken-down fences, as well as construction materials such as wood, tile and carpet.

In order for items to be picked up, they must be placed along the curb before 7 a.m. on collection days.

For more information, visit the Bulk Waste Pilot Program page on Panama City Beach’s website, or contact the city’s public works department by calling 850 233-5100.

“The number of bulky items should not exceed the size of a small dumpster,” the release reads.

“Items must be placed on the ground near the curb and should not block roads, sidewalks or other obstacles such as trees, mailboxes, power lines or fire hydrants.”
