PANAMA CITY, Fla. 121 teams from 14 different states are in Panama City Beach for the 2025 Grand Slam World Series.
The teams playing games at Publix Sports Park and Frank Brown park this past week and this week. The third week of games will be next week for July 4th and the fourth and final week will be the week of 14th. Though these travel teams are here to play the sport of baseball, Grand Slam Sports Tournament owner Larry Thompson Junior says his favorite part of these weeks is to watch the families have fun and mix in a little vacation time. “You know, I think it hits home for me because this is my home.
You know I live here. I work here and knowing the community impact that these events bring is something I really take a lot of pride in so when I see these families come down and travel ball is not cheap. It’s a very expensive proposition, so to see them come down and be willing to make that sacrifice and see how our community embraces them, that put a big smile on my face.” Thompson said.
